5 Things I No Longer Stress About As A content creator

Hi pretties! Blogging for more than ten years has been quite the ride. Sure, I still feel pressure now and then—but there are also some things I no longer let steal my energy. Here are five of them.
Trying to make every photo look like it came straight from a magazine
The editorial-flatlay era had its charm, but I realized it wasn’t really me. I loved the simpler days: messy makeup flatlays, clothes casually draped on a bed. My goal isn’t perfection—it’s relatability. And forcing that high-gloss aesthetic just wasn’t aligning with how I show up.
Trends in beauty and fashion
Trends come and go—and I found that chasing them left me exhausted. Sure, a fun trend here and there is fine. But making it a constant? That’s a fast track to burnout. I’d rather invest in pieces (or routines) that feel me, even if they’re not “right now.”
Overhyped trends
When something blows up overnight and becomes everyone’s thing, I often feel dubious. These are the things that get bought in a rush—and then often end up in thrift stores or landfills. So I don’t stress about needing to jump on the bandwagon of the next “it” bottle or accessory. I’m comfortable standing slightly off-trend.
Having a schedule
Yes—I do keep a loose schedule for my blog (like Tuesdays & Thursdays at 8 am for the main blog). But if something doesn’t land on time? That’s okay. I started blogging because I love sharing my interests. I did not want to feel like I was chained to a clock. Flexibility feels better.
Having a “stereotypical” desk
We’ve all seen the ultra-minimal white-desk, pristine chair, ring-light setup. I chased it once and realized: you don’t need that dream setup to create meaningful content. My standing desk + walking pad works fine. Heck—blogging on my bed with a laptop is just fine too. The space shifts; the content is what truly matters.
Why this matters
Letting go of these stressors has freed me up to create for joy, not pressure. My content comes from a place of authenticity rather than comparison. And as someone who says “yes” to cozy, real, and beautifully imperfect—this shift has felt so healing.
