Hello friends! Recently, Lethal Cosmetics, a German makeup brand, released the long-awaited Avatar: The Last Airbender collection. As a longtime fan of the show, I had to have it, and here’s what I think of the collection! I have most items, but not all of them. I love this collection because they really incorporated many Avatar: The Last Airbender details into their eyeshadows, and made them all aptly themed, unlike a certain high street brand.
About Avatar: The Last Airbender
"Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Aang. And although his airbending skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe Aang can save the world."
Avatar: The Last Airbender was an animated fantasy action show on Nickelodeon. The show is about Aang, a 12 year old boy who was discovered by siblings Sokka and Katara in a frozen iceberg. However, he is much more than an ordinary 12 year old boy. Aang is actually an Airbender, specifically, the last Airbender of the Southern Air Temple. It is Aang's duty to master all four elements (water, earth, fire, and air) to maintain harmony between the four nations (Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, Water Tribes, and Air Temples).

Lethal Cosmetics is a vegan makeup brand based out of Germany, in Berlin. They are different from all the other indie makeup brands I love because they are dedicated to bold, outspoken makeup.

White Lotus Highlighter
This beautiful iridescent highlighter was inspired by none other than everyone’s favorite tea drinking uncle, Iroh. Iroh was a Pai Sho (which resembles Chinese chess) master and earned the title of Grand Lotus. The White Lotus is a secretive organization in the Avatar world that transcends the four nations and protects the Avatar. The highlighter has a beautiful lotus in the center, and has an iridescent pink and gold sheen.
Water Palette
This palette was inspired by the Water Tribe of the show. This palette is chock full of beautiful shades of blue.
Shadows:
- Agna Qel’a- a shimmery storm grey. Named after the capital city of the Northern Water Tribe
- Ice Dodging- shimmery white
- Penguin Sledding- pale cornflower
- Yue- silvery-gold. Named for Yue, who briefly dated Sokka before sacrificing herself to become the Moon Spirit
- Kuruk- dark turquoise. Named for Avatar Kuruk, the Water Tribe avatar before Kyoshi.
- Swampbenders- coffee brown. Named after one of three Water Nation tribes
- Water Whip- matte teal. Named for Katara’s signature move
- Spirit Oasis- icy dark storm blue
- Wolf Cove- navy blue
Earth Palette
Named after the Earth Kingdom. This palette features rich hues of green.
Shadows:
- Metalbending- grey-toned taupe. Named after Metalbending, a subset of Earthbending which lets the users mold and morph metal to their liking
- Five-Seven-Five- matte grey. Named for the Five-Seven-Five society in Avatar, an organization in the Earth Kingdom that specializes in poetry
- Lake Laogai- shimmery steel green. Named after Lake Laogai in Ba Sing Se
- Ba Sing Se- matte sage green. Named after the capital of the Earth Kingdom
- Kyoshi- shimmery weathered copper green. Named for the Earth Kingdom avatar after Kuruk.
- Wan Shi Tong- deep grey green. Named for the spirit Wan Chi Tong.
- Badgermole- shimmery copper
- Dai Li- matte emerald green. Named for the secret police force of Ba Sing Se.
- Omashu- reddish brown. Named after the second largest city in the Earth Kingdom.
Fire Palette
This palette is inspired by the Fire Nation from Avatar. It’s filled with rich, warm tones like reds, oranges, and golds.
Shadows:
- The Dancing Dragon- shimmery pale gold
- Fire Lily- orange copper
- Imperial City- warm toned taupe. Named for the Fire Nation’s capital
- Agni Kai- matte scarlet. Named for the traditional Fire Bender duel.
- Roku- shimmery red. Named for the Fire Nation avatar.
- Ember Island- burnt sienna.
- Sozin’s Comet- shimmery yellow. Named for Sozin’s Comet, a comet that passes close to Earth’s atmosphere every century and greatly enhances Firebenders’ abilities.
- Fire Sages- matte burgundy
- Black Sun- matte black
Air Palette
The Air Palette is quite an interesting palette because it has elements from the other 3 palettes ingrained in its color scheme, which represents Aang as the current Avatar.
Shadows:
- Moon Peach- shimmery beige
- Air Temple- matte beige
- Gyatso- shimmery purple. Named for Gyatso, an air bending master and monk at the Southern Air Temple
- Egg Custard Tart- matte mustard yellow
- Aang- shimmery sky blue. Named for the current Avatar, Aang.
- Sky Bison- matte light sienna. Named after Appa, Aang’s pet flying bison
- Council of Elders- bright scarlet red
- Yip! Yip! – shimmery taupe. Named after Aang’s command for Appa to fly
- Glider- matte dark brown
